Gampopa Sonam Rinchen (1079-1153), a physician from Dagpo, was the foremost student
of the Milarepa. Gampopa was renowned for the clarity of his perception and his
knowledge of both Kadampa and Mahamudra methods. He integrated Atisha’s Kadampa
teaching and Tilopa's Mahamudra teaching to establish the Kagyu school.
Our centre is conducting a one full day Gampopa’s Anniversary to commemorate and
celebrate one of our most important and foremost teacher. We encourage everyone to
participate in this event, particularly students of Kagyu school, to learn more
about this great master omniscience and to receive his ever present blessings.
