The blessed Mandala of Avalokiteshvara

Conclusion of Mani Dungdrub Project 2007

The Mani Dungdrub Project by our centre was graced by His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche, Ven. Shi Yuan Fan, Ven. Shi Kai Xiang, Ven. Dhammaratana and Ven. Gunaratana as well as other invited members of the Sangha. We were also very fortunate to have Dharma friends from sister centres all over the world as well as many of our sponsors and devotees join us for this event. What was even more heartening was that we had the help of many kind volunteers who spent their precious time to help us in preparing for the event and also during the event. We are very grateful to the immense help rendered as well as your enthusiastic participation in mani recitations. We were overwhelmed by the large amount of counts we received on Vesak Day. This year a record of 21 countries took part in recitation.

The Final Mani Count is: 120,039,500.

We thank participants from the following countries for contributing their counts:

Background and History
Venerable Shangpa Rinpoche, the Abbot of Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre Singapore, initiated the first Mani Dongdrub project in 1999. The event was named "Voices of Compassion" and all Buddhists were encouraged to join together in one like-mind towards the noble cause of reciting the Six-Syllable Mantra of Avalokiteshvara.

Buddhists from 15 countries recited 239,788,265 times of Om Mani Padme Hung and dedicated the merits towards world peace. Since then the 2nd and 3rd Mani Dungdrub Projects named "Universal Mantra of Compassion" were successfully held in Dec 2001 and Dec 2002 respectively.

WE WELCOME EVERYONE WORLDWIDE TO JOIN IN THIS MEANINGFUL EVENT! You may join us in our program at our centre or download our counting form to recite at home. Participants overseas can email their mani count to us at mani_dungdrub@yahoo.com. The benefit of group practice is analogous to a drop of water merging with the ocean. It is said that the merit accumulated by each practitioner in the group Mani recitation is the same as that accumulated by the entire group.

本中心诚邀世界各地的佛友们共同参与这项有意义的法会!您可在中心或家里自行念诵。而海外的佛友们则可电邮您所累积的嘛呢心咒数目至:mani_dungdrub@yahoo.com.
经云:共修功德好比小水滴汇集流入大海般,每位参与持诵者所获功德将等同于整个法会所累积的广大功德。
