In the Tibetan tradition, many Tibetans, even those who are poor would at least try once a year to make 1000 sets of offerings (Tong Chod). The making of these offerings during the Mani Dungdrub Project in the auspicious period of Vesak is especially meritorious, as it can be considered the making of offerings to Avalokiteshvara as we are reciting the heart mantra of Avalokiteshvara and also to Shakyamuni Buddha as Vesak marks His Birth, Enlightenment and Maha Parinirvana. The number 1000 is also significant, as it symbolizes the making of offerings to the 1000 Buddhas of this fortunate kalpa (eon).

It is said that the merits be accumulated from offering just one flower to Buddha with a sincere heart will be immeasurable. The collective merits we can accumulate by making 1000 sets of offerings are therefore unimaginable since during Vesak (Saga Dawa Duchen in Tibetan) any merits accumulated are multiplied 10 million times. We sincerely encourage all to join in this meritorious act.

The offerings in our centre will be made on the Tibetan Vesak day (18th June 2008). Each set include 8 offerings each of water for washing the feet, water for washing the mouth, flower, incense, lamps, perfume, food and music. Each set can be sponsored in our centre at $15 per set. May all the merits accumulated be dedicated towards all sentient beings and may they be blessed with temporary and ultimate happiness.

在藏传佛教里，许多藏人，就算那些很穷困的，他们也都会尽量在一年内至少做一遍一千套得八供，通称为“千供” （东措），以累积自利和利他的功德与智慧。在嘛呢法会及吉祥殊胜的卫塞节期间做千供更具意义，因为这将可 同时观想供养、忆念观音菩萨和释迦牟尼佛的一切圆满功德。在嘛呢法会期间，我们持诵一亿遍的观音心咒，而 卫塞节则是纪念释迦牟尼佛诞生，成道和般涅槃的殊胜日子。一千套的八供也可表征我们向贤劫一千尊佛虔诚的 做供养。

一千套的八供包括：

经云：若人以虔诚心供养佛陀一朵鲜花，亦将累积广大的善根”。
因此，在卫塞节如此殊胜的节日，大家一起做一千供养共同所累积的功德就更加的殊胜与不可思议。 因为，在藏传佛教卫塞节亦称“撒嘎达哇”，意为功德增盛千万月，在此月所做的一切善根将增盛千万倍。 因此，我们在此诚恳的吁请大家尽量的参与赞助此殊胜的“千供”，一起共同累积广大的善功德。本 中心将于卫塞节当日（公元二零零八年六月十八日）献供“千供”。
