Lama Dance for purification of environment and of obstacles

Lamas from Jangchub Choeling Monastery performed 3 lama dances namely Maraya, Zhing Kyong (Protectors of Amitabha's Pureland) and Dun Gyema on the 4th of June 2007 starting at 8.30 pm and performed 3 other lama dances namely Deer and Wild Yak Head dance, the Black Hat dance and the Dance of the Demons and Local Deities on the 5th of June 2007 starting at 8 pm.

Chilu Puja for clearing of obstacles and removal of sicknesses

Out of his compassion, Ven. Shangpa Rinpoche is holding a Chilu Puja on the 7th of June 2007, 8 pm for participants and their friends and families to clear away their obstacles and remove their sickness.

To participate, please pack for each person 1) hair strands, 2) water from washing of the face, 3) a piece of fabric from clothing that has been worn by the person and 4) fingernail cuttings. For persons who are unable to attend personally, please also pack a piece of dough which has been rubbed on the parts of their bodies which have sickness. Please note that the dough should not be rubbed on the forehead or heart area.

Recitation of the 16 volumes of the Prajnaparamita Text (4th to 7th June 2007)

Prajnaparamita, meaning the perfection of wisdom, is one of the six paramitas and the final goal in one's cultivation. The text belongs to the Mahayana tradition and mainly deals with the topic of Sunyata or Emptiness.

One who recites or listens to the recitation of the Prajnaparamita text may gain a deeper insight into the true nature of the true nature of phenomena, thus going on the path towards immeasurable joy and equanimity.

Recitation of the text is daily (04/06/2007 to 07/06/2007) from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm. We welcome all to join us.
