About the 4th Dongsung Shabrung Rinpoche

Rinpoche was recognized to be the 4th incarnation of Dongsung Shabdrung Rinpoche at the age of 8 years by His Holiness Sakya Trizin and His Eminence Shamar Rinpoche. He is viewed to be the emanation of Sangye Yeshe (Buddha's Wisdom), one of the 25 heart disciples of Guru Padmasambhava and is one of the main spiritual instructors of Dhongtsang Monastery (Sakya lineage) located in Qing Hai, China. The 3rd Shabdrung Rinpoche was the elder brother of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje.

Under His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche's care, Rinpoche completed his studies in Buddhist philosophy and rituals in his childhood and successfully graduated after passing various examinations. From His Holiness Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, he received the entire cycle of Sakya tantric teachings and transmissions. He took ordination under His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche and has received many other teachings and empowerments of the Sakya, Nyingma and Kagyu lineage from His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche, His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.
Short introduction of programme

3 long life Deities Puja & White Tara Initiation - The practice of White Tara has the benefits of gaining longevity and good health. Tara is believed to have been formed from the tears of compassion of Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig, Mandarin: Guan Yin), who saw that despite his efforts to liberate all sentient beings from the sufferings of samsara, there were still countless who were trapped in samsara.

Green Tara Puja and Initiation - Practice of the Green Tara has the benefits of cultivating fearlessness and to clear away obstacles.

Smoke Puja - Performing a smoke puja has the benefits of accumulating luck and wealth.

Water offering to Zambhala & Zambhala Initiation - Zambhala is an Enlightened being possessing remarkable power to free sentient beings from the clutches of poverty and starvation and guiding them towards ultimate Buddhahood. Practice of this deity will benefit practitioners in the gain of material wealth for the ultimate purpose of gaining enlightenment.

Vajrapani Fire Puja - Performing the ritual fire offering pleases the deity who helps the disciple gain accomplishments on the path. It also serves to remove the faults of badly or incompletely recited mantras and removes obstacles to a good meditative stabilization.

Garuda Initiation - The Garuda symbolizes freedom from hopes and fears, the vast mind without reference point. It is a powerful antidote to the negative influences of Nagas (spirits) which can cause diseases.
