Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre - current building Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre – current building

Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre was established in 1979 with a mission to preserve and propagate a millennium-old lineage–Karma Kagyud Lineage–in accordance with the vision of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, the advice of Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, and under the auspices of the late Venerable Da Xiong.

The Centre is a focal point for the practice and propagation of Lord Buddha’s pure and profound teachings in Southeast Asia.

For more than three decades, it has been a sanctuary in serving the spiritual and welfare needs of its members and devotees as well as the charitable needs of the community, and has contributed to the spreading of the Dharma in the region.

Venerable Shangpa Rinpoche is the Centre’s abbot and religious advisor. He is also the religious advisor of the Karma Kagyud Dharma Societies in Southeast Asia, and the abbot and founder of various monasteries and institutes in Nepal.
