The Journey

Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre was established in 1981 by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa to realise the precious teachings of Buddha in Singapore. Since then, through various programmes such as Dharma classes, meditation classes, Buddhist teachings, group practices and many more, the Centre has benefited many people.

Now the time is ripe—for our Centre to expand to cater to the growing numbers of devotees and members and their needs, and to organise systematic classes as an institute.

We are going to build a new Centre. With everybody’s contribution and effort, I am sure this dream will materialise. Singapore is an important service and logistics hub in Asia and is very accessible to students from all over the world to come and learn the Dharma, and especially to benefit from the pure lineage of Karma Kagyud teachings.

Fundraising for the new building is a great opportunity for us to accumulate merits. We accumulate merits for every contribution we make to rebuild the Centre, to build stupas or to develop an institute. These merits are immeasurable because they plant the seeds of enlightenment for generations to come.

Therefore let us put in our utmost effort to build the new Centre and develop it into an institute together.
